Due to the severe weather event occurred including lightning strikes near one of the South Central US datacenter, Microsoft’s cloud-based Azure services faced a really hard time in getting their work done on Tuesday from 15:08 IST
With the increase in the power voltage which impacted the cooling system, it has to lead to Microsoft Azure’s services to shut down in some of the areas including Texas and south-central area of the United States in order to keep the Azure servers and other data center protect from overheating.
Microsoft Azure is an open, flexible, enterprise-grade cloud computing service used for building, testing, deploying and managing applications and services through Microsoft’s own global network of data centers. The services such as website operation, storage, and data networking management are supported by Microsoft Azure.
Now it seems that the problem has been resolved and the mitigation efforts were continuing in order to get all the service done involved in back up and running.
The Microsoft’s Azure Support also tweeted about the same stating that engineers had successfully restored power to the data center and many of the network devices are recovered which got affected by the shutdown. This has given a huge relief to customers and now they can continue to use their service.
