DCOM got error “1068” attempting to start the service netprofm with arguments “Unavailable” in order to run the server

DCOM got error “1068” attempting to start the service netprofm with arguments “Unavailable” in order to run the server {A47979D2-C419-11D9-A5B4-001185AD2B89} is a common error in windows server. This error does occur when Network List Service (netprofm) is not enable or not running mode.

What is Network List Service?

The Network List Service (netprofm) remembers networks that you have connected to in the past and re-connects to them when they are available. This service Identifies the networks to which the computer has connected, collects and stores properties for these networks, and notifies applications when these properties change. Its Default Startup Mode is Manual.

Why get error coming:-

This issue does come when DHCP client service is disable or stacked. A DHCP client service is require enable for DNS resolver and registration service. This service is depend on Network Location Awareness service and Network Location Awareness service is depend for Network List Service.

Solution:-

All require service should be enable and running mode. You can check services from service console.

You can follow below some easy steps and avoid this error.

  1. open run command and type services.msc then enter.
  2. Find  DHCP client service and run with automatically mode.
  3. Find Network Location Awareness service and run with automatically mode.
  4. Find Network List Service and run with automatically mode.
